The Studio-K printmaking programme offers students an in-depth look into the productive world of screen-printing. Students are led through a three week course that teaches the basics from stencil printing, through to printing graphic designs and t-shirts.
Skills in bookmaking, fabric printing and care of production are provided throughout and the project is focused around teaching students how to be entrepreneurial, brand themselves and create a line of products that are suitable for selling.
The printmaking program was developed by James Jessiman, Joe Kelly and Luke Overin.
“During the first lesson we were learning the basics of screenprinting, we were making the designs to put onto posters and in the second lesson we were making booklets. Now we’re on the third week and we’re making t-shirts. I’m glad that I have been given the opportunity to do this – I feel like I can progress further from now on and maybe get a career in art. ”
