The Aim of Studio-K is to provide young people access to facilities and ways of making that are only usually available at higher education institutions.
In an attempt to represent the Illustration and Animation BA (Hons) at Kingston University, we offer an advanced look into screen-printing, design, bookmaking, stop-frame animation and filmmaking.
The programme initially worked with three schools in the London Borough of Hackney and worked with a diverse range of students from different backgrounds.
Since its pilot in 2016, Studio-K has adapted and delivered workshops to suit a wide range of audiences and institutions including the CTRL: Reprezent x ICA Festival and Kingston Young Carers’ Project.
“The kids really enjoyed seeing the final outcomes and watching their films – there was a real palpable sense of excitement throughout the room and a sense of pride.”
